We all know that Gemma Arterton could be one of the lead characters in Ridley Scott's "Alien" two-part prequel, but not too much after that We know the aliens look the same (duh) and that the film is being shot in 3D. Today we get even more of a better look at what the story will be all about. Set 30 years before the 1979 original, so with no room for Sigourney Weaver's Ripley, the prequels will explore the origins of the deadly aliens. "The film will be really tough, really nasty," he notes. "It's the dark side of the mooon. We are talking about engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?"

You want to talk about putting yourself in a make-or-break situation with your own franchise, this is one of those instances. Scott knows the risks he's taking by just putting together these prequels, but he seems confident enough in Damon Lindelof's take to continue on forward.
